JLL oversees Toys ʻRʼ Us transformation

JLL Project and Development Services (PDS) announced the completion of Urban Edge Properties’ renovation of a 40,000 s/f retail property in Amherst, N.Y.

The retail site was a former Toys ‘R’ Us store that now houses Burlington, a national apparel and home product retailer.

Urban Edge Properties is a leading REIT that acquires, develops, owns, manages and improves shopping centers in and on the edge of urban communities. “Our five-month management oversight enabled the tenant to move in on time as specified in their agreement with Urban Edge,” stated Joseph Denn, vice president and greater New York region market leader for JLL PDS.

“We came aboard after both the design and contract document phases of the project had been completed and a general contractor had been selected.

“Repairs to the exterior masonry façade posed a significant challenge given the budget and tight schedule, but we were able to successfully accomplish both.”
