Humphreys & Partners Architects and HPA Design Group were honored at the 12th annual Business Innovator Awards hosted by Student Housing Business. Winners were announced on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the Interface Student Housing Conference hosted at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas.
The Standard at Austin won the award for Best Architecture & Design with More than 400 Beds. The 17-story high-rise is comprised of 287 units offering 989 beds and is packed with sought-after amenities including a rooftop VIP lounge, an outdoor lounge deck with hammocks, bike storage, a coffee bar, a game room, a pool deck overlooking the city skyline, a two-story clubhouse, state-of-the-art fitness/yoga rooms, and academic lounge featuring collaboration spaces, a computer lab, and private study pods all within walking distance to the University of Texas campus and the state capitol.
The Humphreys & Partners Architects interior design division, HPA Design Group, also won Best Interior Design with a Budget of Less than $250,000 for the interior design at The Retreat at Milledge, a brand new student housing community serving the students of the University of Georgia located in Athens, Georgia. Designers delivered a vibrant clubhouse and lively amenity spaces including resort-style pools, private study rooms, 24-hour computer labs, game zones, and play/study lounges. The interior design was inspired by neoclassic vernacular similar to Athens, Greece, and combines whimsical elements to create a bold, unexpected living experience.
“Both projects are packed with cutting-edge amenities to create that perfect live/study environment for students at their prospective universities,” stated Greg Faulkner, President of Humphreys & Partners Architects. “Our designer teams understand at their core what the client desires to deliver and exceed expectations,” noted Faulkner.
