Ang Wee Gee (“Wee Gee”), age 61, former chief executive officer of Keppel Land Limited (“Keppel Land”), has joined RealVantage as advisor and investment committee member with immediate effect. Wee Gee’s timely appointment comes at a significant milestone for RealVantage as it is set to double its equity under management in excess of SGD100 million by year-end.

RealVantage has, in the last three years, built a portfolio of 25 deals across different geographies, totalling equity under management in excess of SGD40 million. Given his accumulated 26 years of real estate experience in multiple markets during his tenure at Keppel Land, Wee Gee’s primary remit is to evaluate and approve deals, spot future market cycles and opportunities; and advise on business development strategies through partnerships and strategic alliances with real estate players. Wee Gee will also assist in deal origination particularly in greenfield projects in Singapore, and the region, to further augment RealVantage’s range of investment offerings.

“It is, indeed, such a privilege to welcome Wee Gee onboard RealVantage. As a stalwart in the real estate industry in Singapore, Wee Gee joins the ranks, alongside Anthony Ang (“Anthony”) and Richard Tan Liat Chew (“Richard”), as part of RealVantage’s investment committee panel. His appointment will lend more weight towards ensuring RealVantage offers real estate investment opportunities with attractive margins to our investors,” says Keith Ong (“Keith”), co-founder and chief executive officer of RealVantage. “Wee Gee’s experience and expertise in property development will be invaluable as we take on more greenfield projects. Wee Gee also brings with him a wealth of expertise to which the quality and rigorousness of our deal underwriting process will take on an even higher calibre under his watchful eyes.” Anthony was formerly chief executive officer of first outlet mall Sasseur REIT and has held executive positions across GIC Real Estate, Vertex Management and the Singapore Economic Development Board. Richard was previously chief financial officer of Sasseur REIT and ARA Private Funds, and senior finance director in Suntec REIT, Hewlett Packard and Schroders.

States Wee Gee: “RealVantage’s true north has always been to do right by its investors. I am impressed with RealVantage’s business model – a unified real estate investor platform that allows the man in the street to participate in large-scale real estate projects with smaller quantum investments. RealVantage’s mission of leveraging technology to make institutional quality real estate investment accessible to a wider audience resonates strongly with me. I look forward to working closely with the team, and steering RealVantage’s strategy forward alongside fellow distinguished industry veterans Anthony and Richard.”

Wee Gee joined Keppel Land in January 1991 as corporate development manager of its leisure and hospitality division. Over the next two and a half decades, Wee Gee rose up the ranks of Keppel Land where in the mid-1990s up to 2007, Wee Gee held various management roles across business development and regional investments. In January 2008, Wee Gee was elevated to executive director and chief executive officer of Keppel Land International – a portfolio he held until September 2010. The following month, Wee Gee was appointed executive vice chairman of Keppel Land China. In January 2013, Wee Gee was made chief executive officer of Keppel Land Limited – a position he held until his retirement in December 2017. Whilst overseeing Keppel Land’s property fund management business as chief executive officer, Wee Gee was appointed board member of Keppel REIT and Alpha Investment Partners, contemporaneously.

Wee Gee is currently member of the supervisory board of Arcadis N.V., a leading sustainable design, engineering and built-assets consultancy firm headquartered in Amsterdam since 2017; and in the last four years, as advisor of TVS Group, an automotive conglomerate company headquartered in Chennai. Past board memberships include the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore from 2016 to 2019, and Raffles Institution board of governors from 2015 to 2018. In 2017, Wee Gee was conferred the prestigious Shanghai Magnolia Award, which recognises foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to the city’s economic and social development. An alumnus of Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong Junior College, Wee Gee is a Hornbeck Scholar on the Dean’s Honour Roll from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in business administration summa cum laude, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Imperial College of the University of London in 1984 and 1997, respectively. Married with two grown kids, Wee Gee enjoys golf and pilates in his spare time.
