Ekstein Development, the developers of +aRt, a new development in West Chelsea’s thriving art district, is running “Welcome to the Neighborhood” tours for potential buyers every Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Running throughout the month of September, the complimentary tours begin at 6:30 p.m. in the sales office of +aRt, at 540 West 28th Street between 10th and 11th avenues.

Each tour takes in neighborhood highlights such as the Starret Lehigh building, a much heralded modernist experiment in industrial architecture completed in 1931, along with fixtures like The High Line, Chelsea Piers, The Frying Pan, Hotel Americano, The High Line Skate Rink, Architect’s Row and Chelsea Cove.
The tour will also spotlight distinguished galleries and notable restaurants and will end at the all natural, organic ice-cream vendor Coolhaus.

“The tours will showcase +aRt and underline the surrounding businesses, landmarks, galleries and restaurants in the eclectic neighborhood of West Chelsea,” said developer Erik Ekstein, president of Ekstein Development.
“Our goal is to increase the awareness of the many attractions and diverse amenities that complement this already booming area.”
+aRt is, a 13-story new construction building, is comprised studios, one- and two- bedroom homes. Remaining homes range in size from 445 to 1,380 s/f and in price from $530,000 to $2,150,000. The building also qualifies for the city’s 421-A tax abatement program.
