Douglaston Development Announces Partnership with Project Destined, Launching Internship and Mentorship Programs

Douglaston Development today announced their partnership with leading social impact education platform specializing in training underserved youth, Project Destined, to launch an in-person summer internship program and a virtual fall mentorship program for college students. Both programs will offer students an in-depth look into business operations across The Douglaston Companies to help grow their knowledge surrounding multiple facets of the real estate industry.

Working in tandem with Project Destined, Douglaston Development crafted an in-person summer internship program and will engage in a virtual fall mentorship program. Through each initiative, Douglaston will provide attendees with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in roles across the companies’ (Douglaston Development, Clinton Management and Levine Builders) business operations, which includes real estate development, property management and construction management operations.

“We’re thrilled to be engaging with Project Destined and to be providing students affiliated with the organization experience not only in the real estate development field but simultaneously the property and construction management industries,” said Jeffrey E. Levine, Founder & Chairman of The Douglaston Companies. “We are always looking for opportunities to help cultivate, inspire and engage with the next generation of the work force and are looking forward to our continued partnership with Project Destined.”

“We are excited to partner with The Douglaston Companies to prepare this incredible group of students for a career in commercial real estate,” said Project Destined Co-Founder Cedric Bobo. “The real estate industry provides unparalleled opportunities to build a great career while also impacting your community and your city. This partnership will ensure that these students are ready to take on that challenge.”

Participants will be immersed in the day-to-day operations of the company through in-house team meetings and off-site visits to the gamut of projects that Douglaston currently has underway around New York City. Additionally, they’ll participate in ongoing mentorship programs and lunch-and-learn sessions with executive and management-level staff. The summer internship program will be commencing in-person at Douglaston’s New York City headquarters in mid-June with the virtual fall mentorship program beginning directly after in late August.
