The record-breaking Carroll Gardens townhouse at 181 President Street (pictured top) drew plenty of interest, but Halstead’s Brendan Aguayo remains tight-lipped on who finally bought it.
“The property’s impeccable design and attention to detail rightfully attracted strong interest. It offered a rare opportunity for a buyer to have sophisticated new construction and luxury amenities, such as a private elevator and multi-car garage with Tesla charging station, as well as expansive and thoughtfully designed outdoor entertaining spaces – all within the heart of one of Brooklyn’s most sought-after neighborhoods,” said Aguayo when we quizzed him about the $9.15 million sale.
Once a run-down single story garage, the site was scooped up for $1.4 million in 2013 and transformed into a four-story luxury home by architect Jason Allen, of Workshop DA,
It was listed with the Aguayo Team last fall at $9.95 million. Jim St. Andre from Core was the buyer’s broker .
The sale breaks the previously-reported area record of $6 million for a brownstone sold in September 2017.
