DONE DEALS: Sculptor blazing a new trail

Christina Gomez, of the Keller Williams Tribeca office, just closed on a deal for artist and sculptor Josh Hadar.
Best known for elaborate metal works, Hadar needed to relocate his studio after moving from Tribeca to the Upper West Side
Gomez found him an old warehouse in the Bronx that he picked up for $880,000.
Now he’s hoping the space will draw other artists to the neighborhood. ‟My plan is to hold on to this property for a while, develop it into a unique, artistic space. I’m also looking collaborate with members of the community, and provide training in various trade disciplines, like welding and fabrication.
“I hope other creatives see the value in moving to the Bronx so that we may all collectively build a community of thoughtful artisans and engineers.”
The studio is located at 407 East 174th Street (pictured top). Built in 1955, it comprises 3,320 s/f of space and basement storage. Joe Cosentino of Morris Park Realty represented the seller.
