Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty Celebrates 100 Years With Birthday Bash at UBS Arena

Patricia J. Petersen (left) and Deirdre O’Connell, President and Chairman of the Board
and Chief Operating Officer, respectively, will lead Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty into its
second century of operation.

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty (DGSIR), one of the nation’s leading realtors and the top ranked luxury real estate organization serving Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens hosted a joyful 100th Anniversary celebration of its founding at the new UBS Arena in Elmont. Several hundred guests were in attendance, including current and retired real estate advisors, clients, friends and family members.

“Make no mistake,” said Chief Executive Officer Deirdre O’Connell in addressing the audience, “at 100
years old, we are not ‘old.’ We are 100 years strong, 100 years wise, and 100 years resilient. Over the
decades there is not a market condition that we have failed to successfully navigate. Our deep institutional knowledge, combined with our ability to adapt, has kept us at the top of our game, whatever the challenge. Even a pandemic didn’t stop us.”

Other speakers included Stanley C. Gale, grandson of Daniel Gale, who recounted the earliest history of
the company and the profound effect his grandfather and father’s leadership has had on the organization. Stan was joined by Patricia J. Petersen, President and Chairman of the Board, who shared
some of many accomplishments of past decades with a few choice anecdotes, among them the
gamechanger that is Daniel Gale’s exclusive affiliation with Sotheby’s International Realty on Long Island
and in Queens, which has given it a global reach and robust brand recognition unlike any other real estate competitor in the region.

Daniel Gale Real Estate was founded in 1922 as a real estate and insurance agency on Main Street, Huntington, then a small rural town. Its founder and namesake recognized the community’s great promise for growth, having a stop on the Long Island Railroad.

Today, Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty is a $5.02 billion organization that blankets Long
Island, Brooklyn and Queens with 30 sales offices and more than 950 real estate advisors supported by
100 sales managers, administrative staff and corporate management.

Daniel Gale remains family owned and holds strictly to its history of uncompromising ethics and the
highest standards of professionalism and service, providing a luxury experience at every price point.
What has changed, dramatically, is the organization’s growth, breadth of services, and the cutting edge
technology that has revolutionized the way homes are marketed.

The last decade has been one of tremendous strategic growth in new markets for the organization and
soaring sales revenue, breaking records year over year. Long Island offices opened in Rockville Centre,
Great Neck, Long Beach, Smithtown, Bay Shore, and Westhampton Beach. In 2014, Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty expanded to Bayside/Flushing, Queens, then to Astoria in 2018. Late last year, three Brooklyn offices, in Cobble Hill, Williamsburg, and Park Slope were acquired. Later this spring, a new state-of-the-art office will open on Main Street, Huntington, located just across the street from the original 1922 office.

In its centennial year, the organization is launching the Daniel Gale Foundation. “Over the decades, as a
company and as individuals, we have donated tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to
make a difference in our home communities,” said O’Connell. “The Daniel Gale Foundation will enable
us to make an even greater impact with our giving by consolidating and organizing our efforts to make
an even greater impact. It’s about more than giving dollars, it is having the Daniel Gale family work in
our communities as a team.

“We are exceedingly proud of the hundreds of thousands of transactions we’ve conducted over the
decades,” concluded O’Connell. “It is a privilege, a responsibility, and what we love to do. Thank you
Long Island, for making us your real estate agency of choice.”
