The New York Building Congress named Dr. Raymond Daddazio, president and CEO of Weidlinger Associates, Inc., a recipient of its 2011 Industry Recognition Award.
One of four honorees, Daddazio was cited for his dedication to “advancing the innovative practice of engineering within the industry, profession, and within Weidlinger.”
The award also celebrates his “strategic and operational leadership across business lines and geographies” since assuming the role of Weidlinger president and CEO in January 2006.

Daddazio joined Weidlinger in 1979 as a member of the Applied Science group. As the group’s director starting in 1996, he explored opportunities to collaborate with Weidlinger’s Building Design, Transportation, and Infrastructure groups on protective design projects, which escalated significantly in number and scope after September 11, 2001.
He also supported the firm in becoming a leader in the sustainability movement, where the structural engineer’s role is not often understood.
“I am especially proud to have been chosen for this honor because I believe it is important for engineers to be active in the real-estate and construction communities; the Building Congress’s recognition of our efforts is an unexpected bonus,” said Daddazio.
