Chicago Trading Company Takes Last Available Full Floors at the Durst Organization’s One Five One

The Durst Organization today announced that CTC (Chicago Trading Company) has signed a 15-year lease for 68,339 square feet on the 36th and 37th floors at One Five One West 42nd Street.  The trading firm is moving their office from 1120 Avenue of the Americas.

Building on its pedigree as the first green skyscraper in the country, One Five One West 42nd Street achieved LEED Gold certification under LEED v4 Existing Buildings: Operations + Maintenance. This accomplishment is a result of a $150 million-plus capital improvement program, which included new entrances, a lobby renovation, new destination dispatch controls and elevator cabs, enhanced building automation and temperature control systems, and demand-controlled ventilation through sensors installed in each air handling unit. One Five One is home to Durst’s amenity brand, Well&, on the fourth floor of the building. The 45,600 square foot amenity includes conference and meeting rooms and an artisanal food hall located in the reimagined Frank Gehry cafeteria and curated by Michelin Star Chef Charlie Palmer.

“CTC is an outstanding addition to One Five One,” said Jonathan (Jody) Durst, president of The Durst Organization. “One Five One’s expansive floorplates allowed CTC to expand and consolidate their offices.  One Five One is providing CTC with the space to collaborate and foster creativity and, ultimately, giving them a critical edge in their competitive business. With the last two full floors leased by CTC, One Five One is now 97% leased and helping to lead our City’s rebound from the pandemic.”

CTC was represented by CBRE’s New York team of Ben Friedland, Jason Pollen and Hannah Gerard, along with Mark Keebler and Brad Serot of CBRE’s Chicago office.  The Durst Organization was represented in-house by executive vice president Tom Bow, senior vice president Rocco Romeo and associate director Tanya Grimaldo.

The Durst Organization, founded in 1915 by Joseph Durst, is the owner, manager, and builder of 13 million square feet of premiere Manhattan office towers and over 3 million square feet of residential rental properties, with 3,400 rental apartments built and over 3,000 in the pipeline. The Durst Organization is recognized as a world leader in the development of high-performance and environmentally advanced commercial and residential buildings where people live, work, and thrive.
