Brookfield Properties, Park Tower Group Announce Launch of Leasing at Luxury Brooklyn Waterfront Residential Towers Eagle + West

Brookfield Properties, in partnership with Park Tower Group, today announced the launch of leasing at Eagle + West, a 745-unit luxury apartment complex designed by acclaimed architecture firm OMA. With Beyer Blinder Belle Architects collaborating as the Executive Architect along with designing the residential units, and amenity interior design by Marmol Radziner, Eagle + West is the latest set of residential towers to open along the East River waterfront in North Brooklyn within the master planned Greenpoint Landing development.

“Greenpoint Landing has become one of the most sought-after places to live in the city, so we’re excited to start leasing at Eagle + West and offer renters yet another inspiring, modern, and luxurious option to choose from within the neighborhood,” said Maria Masi, Senior Vice President, Brookfield Properties Development. “With unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, light-filled and elegantly designed interiors, best-in-class amenities, and unparalleled access to waterfront parks, cafes, restaurants and more, Eagle + West represents the ultimate living experience.”

“The evolution of Greenpoint Landing has been remarkable to watch. We’re thrilled this architecturally significant property is now open and offering renters an all-encompassing residential experience,” said Marian Klein, President, Park Tower Group.

Commanding a prominent waterfront location on the East River overlooking the entirety of Manhattan, Eagle + West comprises two luxury towers – 40 and 30 stories each, respectively. The project features 745 total apartments, 224 of which are designated affordable.

Defined by the space between them, the two cantilevered towers were carefully crafted by OMA Partner Jason Long to maximize views toward Manhattan and create a sense of residential privacy. The north tower retreats from its base, creating space for sweeping outdoor terraces, while the south tower expands out, capturing 360-degree views. Resembling the shingled fronts of Greenpoint’s townhouses, the building’s facades are carved by a series of angled planes that alternate in orientation – a dynamic feature that reacts to the movement of the sun – and contain gridded concrete panels insets with square, eight by eight feet windows, granting each unit an abundance of natural light.

“Eagle+West is a reflection of the collective ambition—with Brookfield, Park Tower Group, and the construction and design teams—to create a platform for living that connects past and future, indoor and outdoor, urban street life and waterfront. It has been an amazing journey to watch our first towers in New York take shape on the Brooklyn waterfront, and we look forward to seeing them come to life,” said Jason Long, Partner, OMA.

“The residential units were designed to maximize the stunning views, utilizing materials that evoke warmth and elegance, while providing a relaxing environment to come home to.  Every detail was carefully crafted to heighten the senses to another level of beauty,” said Carlos Cardoso, AIA, Partner, Beyer Blinder Belle.

Eagle + West boasts 42,000 square feet of thoughtfully curated indoor and outdoor amenity spaces designed for recreation and relaxation including a state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated cycling studio and tranquil yoga room; an expansive central terrace with sweeping waterfront views featuring reservable grills and a bocce court flanked by lounge areas; an indoor lap pool; an outdoor resort-style pool; a coworking center with conference rooms; a crash pad space with big screen TV, sound system and projector; a workshop for creative hobbies; game room; children’s room; and a test kitchen. Further, residents have immediate access to the Greenpoint Landing riverside park designed by James Corner Field Operations and steps away from the G subway train and Greenpoint ferry stop.

As the interior and landscape architect, Marmol Radziner’s goal for the design of the Eagle + West project was to complement the exterior architecture and its surroundings with considered spaces for its residents. The design reflects the architecture as well as the natural surroundings, tying in with the angles of the building and the views over the East River to Manhattan. The interior and exterior finishes have a strong focus on tactile movement, with a color palette reminiscent of the waterfront. Minimalist interior spaces have muted tones and textured materials, both refined and honest in feel. A cohesive sense of warmth and comfort has been achieved through the use of color, wood design elements, textured concrete, and meticulously sourced furniture that reflects the refined level of detail found throughout the common spaces.

“We are excited to be collaborating on this wonderful project and bringing our vision to fruition in each amenity that Eagle + West has to offer. We have designed spaces that are warm and inviting, with a focus on the residents and their needs. Large, open lobbies and amenity areas create visual connections from the interior to the exterior and the Greenpoint Landing waterfront. The furnishings are simple and refined, punctuated by boundary-pushing pieces, resulting in exciting and dynamic spaces that reinforce the architecture of the buildings. We look forward to seeing this community grow and thrive,” said Ron Radziner, FAIA, Design Partner, Marmol Radziner.

Park Tower Group is developing the master plan for Greenpoint Landing which, when complete, will include approximately 5,500 apartments (both market rate and permanently affordable units), a sprawling waterfront park designed by James Corner Field Operations and numerous local retail opportunities. The final installment of the four-acre public park and promenade will open later this summer. Eagle + West is the forth residential project Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group have developed together within the larger 22-acre Greenpoint Landing master planned development. The firms opened One Blue Slip site in 2018, Two Blue Slip in 2020 and The Bellslip this past May.
