Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New York Properties announced the launch of its commercial division.
The full-service real estate brokerage has tapped industry veteran Herb M. Hirsch to lead the new team, which will build upon the firm’s existing residential services business by focusing on investment sales and leasing for multifamily, hotel, office and retail properties throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and The Bronx.
Hirsch was previously a partner at Wentworth Equity Partners and before that, he was a partner at Stone Land Capital. Prior to that, he was the EVP of Investment Sales and Leasing at CS Commercial Group.
Early in his career, Hirsch founded Everest Broadband Networks, which updated the wiring and connectivity of New York City skyscrapers, leading to many long-standing relationships with New York City landlords and owners.
Hirsch is joined in the commercial division by Jeffrey Berman and Diane (Dina) Fisher. The Hirsch Commercial Team is currently working with investment and development properties throughout the city valued at over $500 million.
The launch of the commercial division comes on the heels of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ announced expansion into New York City earlier this year, spearheaded by industry leader Ellie Johnson.
“We are thrilled to welcome Herb and his team to our organization, and will continue building on our momentum with new service offerings that ensure we are strongly positioned to provide our clients with comprehensive solutions for all of their real estate requirements,” Johnson said.
“The launch of our commercial division was a direct result of the growing demand we’re seeing from clients of our residential business, who also have commercial interests and want the benefits that come from working with a firm that has a holistic view of the market.”
