Oct. 8:  The Plumbing Foundation City of New York, Inc. (PFCNY) Renewable Energy Forum: The Natural Gas Debate and Implications for the Building Industry will be held at the NYC Seminar and Conference Center on 46 West 24th Street. Technical symposium
Oct. 15: Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) will convene a diverse group of architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) experts with building owners and city officials for a full-day discussion on resiliency and building performance.  Jeremy Alain Siegel, BIG Associate, will keynote the event and speakers will include  Kevin Davis of Con Edison, Douglas Fee of UDR, Robert Freudenberg of Regional Plan Association and Eric Wilson of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Resiliency. Autumn Leaves Gala
Oct. 15:  James Lenox House and Carnegie East House will honor three New Yorkers for their commitment to the needs of older adults at their annual Autumn Leaves Gala, at The Ziegfeld Ballroom on 141 West 54th Street. The co-recipients of the Mary Lenox Sheafe Award are Joseph Brancato, Managing Principal and Vice Chairman at Gensler, and Gregory F. Burke, Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Lane Office. Board member, Erna Given will receive the Lifetime Service Award. ECA Seminar
Oct 16:  The Environmental Contractors Association (ECA) and CERT Institute (CERT) will host a seminar on Local Law 196 from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM at The Sheraton Times Square at 811 7th Avenue. The expert-led panel includes John Connolly, Director of Field Operations, Technical Services Group, Total Safety Consulting LLC; Peter Simon, Certified Safety Professional, Total Safety Consulting LLC; and Adam Zellner, President, Greener by Design. The seminar will discuss the new guidelines set forth by Local Law 196, as well as the key OSHA policies, procedures and standards construction staff needs to know. Additionally, the presentation will highlight environmental training now available through CERT for effective on-site remediation required for a broad range of hazardous environmental and infectious public health emergencies.

OCT. 17: The CoreNet Global New York City Chapter (CoreNet NYC) Young Leaders Committee will hold the second annual Ride for Breast Cancer Research benefitting The Pink Agenda. The event will take place at SWERVE’s Flatiron and Midtown locations from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM. The proceeds will go to The Pink Agenda, a nonprofit organization committed to raising money for breast cancer research and treatment, with a focus on raising awareness among young professionals. Hope for Haiti

Oct. 18: Women in Proptech present the The Women in Proptech Summit, a half-day event where attendees will have the chance to network, learn and explore the real-world applications of data, sensors and transformative technologies being used to achieve a sustainable built environment. Oct. 24: The day-long NYCRE Expo will draw over 5,000 to the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel. Nov. 5:  The Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Avenue of the Americas Association announced the 93rd Annual Gala, honoring Rockefeller Group for their ongoing investment of the Avenue of the Americas and the Midtown corporate corridor.
