MDA Gala

Jan. 9: Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Muscle Team NYC will hold its 2018 MDA Muscle Team Gala at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The high-profile sports dinner teams professional athletes with business executives to put their muscle behind the search to find treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy. The 2018 Honorees will be Gregg Popkin, President of RFR Realty LLC and Jonathan Andrew, Senior Director of Gardiner & Theobald. The 2018 Champion of Spirit Award recipient is Dennis J. CREW Networking

Developer Harry Macklowe (center) and IDB Bank transformed 432 Park Avenue’s Club 432, the skyscraper’s private dining room, into a recital hall for performance by an ensemble comprising members of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Maestro Pinchas Zukerman (left) conducted pieces by Mozart, Tartini, Orrenbach and Holst, with solo performances by Zukerman’s wife, cellist Amanda Forsyth (right) and trumpeter James Fountain to introduce New Yorkers to the American Friends of the (Royal Philharmonic) Orchestra. Rafael Viñoly, the building’s architect, was among the evening’s 300 attendees. Harry Macklowe is also the developer of 200 East 59th Street, approaching completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Jan 22: NAIOP will hold its first big networking event of 2018 will feature CBRE Economist Spencer Levy, who will deliver keynote remarks on the outlook for commercial real estate markets and the overall economy in 2018, and NAIOP President Tom Bisacquino, who will share insights on federal tax reform efforts, as well as trends across the continent, the industry and our membership.
