Nov. 6: The Long Island Real Estate Group (LIREG) will host a breakfast event at the Old Westbury Country Club featuring an inside look at the current status of the proposed Heartland Town Square “smart growth” development in Edgewood. The headlined speaker will be David E. Wolkoff, principal at Heartland Business Center, the privately owned real estate company that is working to transform the former Pilgrim State Hospital property into the mixed-use Heartland development. As proposed, the development will include 9,000 housing units, a million-square-foot “lifestyle” center, 3 million square feet of Class A office space, a hotel and convention center, indoor and outdoor civic space and an aquarium.
