2022 DUBAI WATCH WEEK COMING TO 875 WASHINGTON ST. IN NEW YORK CITY’S MEATPACKING DISTRICT

Retail by MONA, the leasing and advisory firm guiding tenants and landlords through an evolving retail landscape, announced today that Dubai Watch Week has taken 4,985 square feet of pop-up retail space at 875 Washington St. in New York City’s Meatpacking District. Dubai Watch Week, an extravagant consumer-oriented show intended to shine a light on the often-overlooked American watch industry, will occupy three units for the event which runs September 24 –25, 2022.

“This building, with its unparalleled and highly visible retail frontage, is extremely attractive for luxury retailers,” said Brandon Singer, CEO of Retail by MONA. “We recently signed Breitling to a long-term lease at 875 Washington and continue to see high-profile retailers taking space on and around this vibrant corner of the Meatpacking District.”

A Retail by MONA team led by Brandon Singer along with Michael Cody, Suzanne Bernstock and Max Kreinces represented ownership RFR Realty and Raycliff Capital as well as the tenant, Dubai Watch Week. Retail asking rents in the building are $500 per square foot.

The Dubai Watch Week location will have over 90 feet of total frontage at 875 Washington St.  Retail by MONA also represented ownership in securing space for Breitling’s upcoming flagship on the corner of West 14th Street at 875 Washington St. while other retail tenants in the building include Vans and Paige. Tesla and Diane von Furstenberg both have retail stores directly across from the building.

“The Dubai Watch Week pop-up is the perfect complement to the high-end retail mix at 875 Washington and the team recognized the extraordinary value of hosting its event here,” said Singer. “The incredible foot traffic in the neighborhood will also generate additional awareness for the luxury watchmaking sector.”

Founded in 2015 by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Dubai Watch Week is a biennial event that provides an educational platform for the purpose of sharing knowledge, building connections, and celebrating watchmaking. A pioneer in the industry, Dubai Watch Week aims to bridge communities and establish itself as a key event in the Dubai calendar. In the alternate years, Horology Forum travels to different horological hotspots around the world to carry on candid conversations and widen the community, selecting New York as the venue for its 2022 event.

Launched in September 2020 as the retail sector absorbed the impact of a global pandemic, the Retail by MONA team signed over $300 Million of aggregate retail transactions in New York and Miami. The team’s forward-thinking approach is helping tenants and landlords successfully navigate the continued evolution of the retail sector.
