WHOʼS NEWS: Marcus & Millichap promotes new VPs

JD PARKER

Marcus & Millichap announced Richard Matricaria and J.D. Parker have been promoted to executive vice presidents of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services.

Parker and Matricaria are long-term members of the firm with extensive experience as investment brokers and in management throughout their careers.

In this new role, they will oversee the firm’s division managers and specialty group directors to streamline operations and execute strategic initiatives more efficiently.

A 15-year company veteran, Parker began his career with the firm as an investment broker and most recently held the position of senior vice president and division manager overseeing the Northeast division.

Prior to that, he served as regional manager where he grew the Manhattan operation to the top office firmwide by sales volume and established the Westchester and Brooklyn offices.

Parker has enhanced Marcus & Millichap’s international presence by launching the Global Capital Group in 2017 to access potential international investors at key events in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Last year, he was instrumental in expanding the firm’s footprint in Canada through the acquisition of two well-regarded firms in Montreal and Ottawa.

RICHARD MATRICARIA

Richard Matricaria joined the company in 2000 as an investment broker and most recently held the position of senior vice president and division manager overseeing offices in the Midwest.

In the last two years, he grew the Midwest division’s revenue by 30% and salesforce by 40%. Matricaria also played a major role in the acquisition of the largest independently owned financing company in the Midwest last year.

Matricaria and Parker will report to Mitchell LaBar, Marcus & Millichap’s chief operating officer.

Marcus & Millichap announced that Joseph Belgiovine has re-joined the firm as Vice President, Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation, according to Brian Hosey, Vice President, Regional Manager, New Jersey.

Prior to re-joining Marcus & Millichap, Belgiovine was the owner and broker of Augustus Companies, a commercial real estate brokerage firm with offices in Lodi, NJ and Miami, FL. Before that, he was director of operations for The Integrated Group, a commercial real estate brokerage company.

He initially joined the New Jersey office of Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation in January of 2012 as an associate director.

Belgiovine graduated from Providence College in Providence, RI with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance.

Steven Roth, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vornado Realty Trust, announced the appointment of Haim Chera as the Company’s Executive Vice President – Head of Retail.

Chera, a real estate industry veteran with over 22 years of experience, joins Vornado from Crown Acquisitions, his family business, where he was a principal.

Chera has been a partner at the family firm for the past 18 years and ran his own chain of retail sotres before that.

Roth said, “Haim is hands down the very best retail real estate executive there is. His knowledge, skills and access are unparalleled. Haim will be leaving his family business, Crown Acquisitions, to join us. My relationship with Haim and his family goes back forever. Haim will have a field day leasing, managing and improving our existing portfolio. What’s more, the disruption in retail will present enormous opportunity for those with talent and capital. ”

James Sousa, president of Weichert Commercial Brokerage, Inc., has announced the addition of three commercial real estate professionals.

Margaret Lapadura rejoins Weichert Commercial Brokerage as senior vice president, bringing more than 20 years of experience in all facets of commercial real estate to the organization.

Lapadura is also a licensed real estate instructor.

Eric Bogovich joins the Weichert Commercial Brokerage team as a sales associate for the northern New Jersey market area.

He has an extensive background in sales and marketing, including his tenure at McBride Corporate Real Estate.

Scott Silver joins as a sales associate for the central New Jersey market area. Silver was most recently with Kroll Commercial Realty for the past two years.

Levin Management Corporation (LMC) announced the addition of Erika Toscani as vice president of property management.

She brings more than 20 years of property management and industry leadership experience in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets to her new position.

Toscani previously held key management positions at Transwestern and Newmark Knight Frank.

Toscani earned a bachelor’s degree from Centenary College (now Centenary University) and holds a New Jersey real estate license, along with Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designations.

She has been actively involved for more than 15 years with the Building Owners and Managers Association of NJ.

Janover LLC announced that partner Joseph A. Maffia, CPA, CGMA, is to be installed as a Vice President of the Board of Directors for the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA).

Maffia has practiced public accounting for over 38 years. Serving businesses and individuals across an array of industries. At Janover, he serves as co-chair of the Quality Control Committee, having previously served on Janover’s Executive Committee.

Gottesman Real Estate Partners (GRE) announced the hiring of Kevin P. Byrd as Vice President/Real Estate.

Byrd will oversee GRE’s 1.7-million-square-foot, four-state portfolio of commercial office buildings and retail space.

Byrd previously ran the real estate department at Privet Capital, a family office in New York. He also worked for The Lightstone Group and two national accounting firms.

He is a graduate of the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, where he was a member of the Real Estate Fellows Program, and the University of Connecticut.

GRE’s portfolio includes the Hippodrome in midtown Manhattan, as well as suburban office properties in Stamford, Conn.; Princeton, Roseland, Chatham, Clifton, Woodbridge and Secaucus, N.J.; and Charlotte, N.C.

Tarter Krinsky & Drogin announced that Spyros Arsenis has joined the firm’s growing Real Estate and Commercial Leasing Groups.

Spyros’ practice focuses on office and retail leasing, commercial financing and lending, and sports law. He represents clients on transactional matters, including leasing transactions for offices, retail stores and other retail uses.

Spyros handles commercial real estate financing, including acquisition, construction, project and mezzanine loans, and has represented clients in the purchase and sale of commercial real estate and in hospitality, food and beverage transactions.

Prior to joining Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, Spyros practiced law at a mid-size firm in New York City.

Sahn Ward Coschignano, PLLC announced that Susan C. Finegan has joined the Firm as an associate.

Previously, Finegan served as an Assistant Law Clerk to the Honorable Carmen Victoria St. George of the New York State Supreme Court, Civil Term. Before that, she was an associate attorney with Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C..

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Juris Doctor at Touro Law Center.

While attending Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in Central Islip, Finegan was the Research Editor of the Touro Law Review.
