New York’s first outlet center officially opens

Last night, thousands of New Yorkers, state and city officials, and business leaders celebrated the grand opening of Empire Outlets on Staten Island, New York City’s first-ever outlet center.

Starting today, visitors can bag outlet-priced merchandise in the modern, new shopping center developed by BFC Partners and designed by the SHoP Architects.

The 340,000 s/f Empire Outlets opened with designer stores including Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Columbia Sporting Goods, Gap Factory, H&M, Jockey, Nike Factory,and Old Navy.


Retailers, including American Eagle Outfitters, Broome & Greene, Crocs and morewill open their stores throughout the spring and summer.

Later this summer, a 40,000 s/f food and beverage deck will open with dozens of food concepts, including MRKTPL, Staten Island’s first-ever artisanal food hall.

Empire Outlets, is being marketed to visitors from around the world
in collaboration with NYC and Co., and is expected to become a premier shopping destination.
