Mack-Cali Realty Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has increased from ten to 11 members and has nominated Lisa Myers and Laura Pomerantz for election to the Board at the Company’s 2019 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, which is currently scheduled to be held on June 12, 2019.
The Board has nominated a slate of eleven candidates consisting of Myers, Pomerantz and all of the current directors of the Company (other than Kenneth M. Duberstein, who will retire)
The nomination of Myers and Pomerantz is intended to be the start of a process to refresh the Board over the next two years to ensure that it has the best mix of knowledge, experience, skills and business acumen to direct the Company’s strategy going forward. It will also seek to increase gender and racial diversity.
Lisa Myers is currently a partner at L Catterton, a global consumer focused private equity firm.
Prior to joining L Catterton, Myers served at Franklin Templeton for 19 years as an executive vice president and lead portfolio manager of global equity funds and institutional accounts. She also joined BTG Pactual as co-head of Global Partnership Investing.
Before entering the investment management industry, Myers practiced corporate and real estate law with Willkie, Farr & Gallagher in New York City.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Debenhams PLC, a British multinational retailer with franchisee partners in 25 countries.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Laura Pomerantz is currently Vice Chairman, Head of Strategic Accounts at Cushman & Wakefield.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Pomerantz was a principal and founding partner of Laura Pomerantz Real Estate, LLC and of PBS Gould Venture, LLC,.
Earlier in her career, Pomerantz served as a senior managing director at Newmark & Company Real Estate, and as executive vice president of The Leslie Fay Companies for 18 years.
Pomerantz serves on the board of directors of G-III, a public company listed on the NASDAQ, the board of directors of ROIC, a public REIT listed on the NASDAQ, and a private Real Estate Fund Board for AREA Properties, the former Apollo Real Estate.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami Dade Community College. She has 22 years of executive-level commercial real estate experience and a significant background in retail and manufacturing.
JLL has hired Al Gutierrez as managing director, Ian Ceppos as executive vice president and Stephanie Coleman as vice president to assist the firm in expanding its tenant representation and agency leasing services in Fairfield County, Conn., and Westchester County, N.Y.
Al Gutierrez has 25 years of experience in Westchester County and Fairfield County commercial real estate, with a primary focus on tenant representation, agency leasing, investment sales, strategic planning, repositioning and value-add transactions.
Prior to joining JLL, he served as an executive managing director with Colliers International in Stamford.
Gutierrez and his partners completed agency leasing and tenant representation transactions totaling more than seven million square feet in Westchester and Fairfield counties.
Ian Ceppos has more than 15 years of experience in Westchester County and Fairfield County commercial real estate, specializing in tenant representation and agency leasing.
Prior to joining JLL, he was a senior managing director with Colliers in Stamford. Earlier, he was an associate with Randall Hagner. Ceppos is head brewer and owner of Cross Culture Kombucha in Danbury, Conn.
Stephanie Coleman has more than 17 years of experience in Westchester County and Fairfield County commercial real estate. Prior to joining JLL, she was a director with Colliers International in Stamford.
Earlier, she served as advisor with Cresa of Fairfield County, and as a founding partner of Progressive Property Development LLC.
Janover LLC announced that partner Anne Marie Flynn, CPA, has been elected by the partners of the firm to Janover’s executive committee.
Flynn has practiced public accounting for over 25 years. She has been with Janover since 2002, providing her clients services in taxation and auditing.
Flynn has demonstrated leadership throughout her time with the firm serving on the Quality Control Committee and she serves as the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Mentoring Program and Charitable Giving Committee.
Transwestern has named Bruce Ford president of Transwestern Commercial Services’ East Region. Ford previously served as president of the Southeast, where he doubled the company’s property management portfolio to 20.3 million square feet and increased deal volume by 25 percent.
He now assumes oversight of business in offices throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
This new position is part of the company’s transformation to a broader, three-region approach to commercial services.
Ford’s responsibilities during his 10-year tenure with Transwestern span all business lines, including Agency Leasing, Asset Services, Capital Markets and Occupier Solutions. His leadership in management operations, financial planning and creative marketing has led to tremendous recruiting success and regional growth.
Ford serves on Transwestern’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He holds the designation of Real Property Administrator (RPA) from the Building Owners & Managers Institute and, in 2018, he was the recipient of Transwestern’s Founder’s Award, the highest honor bestowed by the company.
Lee & Associates New Jersey announced that longtime industry professional David Violette, who currently manages over nine million s/f of commercial real estate throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, has joined their property management team as executive director.
Violette brings over 30 years of experience in real estate management and a client portfolio that includes Cabot Properties, Prudential and Blackstone, among others.
Prior to joining Lee & Associates, Violette was director of property management at NAI DiLeo-Bram. Before that, he served as senior vice president for Colliers Houston & Company with responsibilities for a portfolio of 75 properties throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
David received his B.S. in accounting from Northeastern University and received his CPA license in 1987. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association (IOREBA) and is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of CPA’s (NJSCPA).
ABS Altman Warwick, a capital markets advisory firm and division of ABS Partners Real Estate, announced that former Eastern Consolidated brokers John Leslie and Patrick Rhea have joined the firm as senior managing director and director, respectively.
The duo will serve in an advisory capacity to ABS Partners Real Estate clients and work with ABS Altman Warwick co-managing partners Brian Warwick and Bob Altman, Gregg Schenker as well as Peter Hauspurg, who joined ABS Partners as a co-managing partner in October 2018.
John Leslie was formerly a managing director in the capital advisory division of Eastern Consolidated. Prior to that he was a director at Cushman & Wakefield. He served as a director of capital services at Massey Knakal Realty Services and worked at CapitalSource Finance.
Leslie earned a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from the NYU Schack Institute for Real Estate, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Colgate University.
Patrick Rhea was an associate director in the capital advisory division at Eastern. He was an associate at Cushman & Wakefield Capital Services after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from Dartmouth College, where he majored in government.
Adelaide Polsinelli and Ronda Rogovin, both vice chairs of Compass, announced the continued expansion of the investment sales division with new hire, Michael Cardillo.
Cardillo will specialize in the sale of investment properties in the boroughs, primarily Brooklyn.
He brings a strong and diverse track record of executing complex deals in the tri-state area. Prior to joining Compass Commercial, he was in the investment sales division at Corcoran where he sourced, negotiated and structured the terms of sale of several successful transactions including 525 St. Marks Place and 520 Liberty Avenue.
Cardillo was also a co-founder of Middlegate Funding. Before that, he was a portfolio manager at a long/short equity hedge fund, responsible for the execution of trading for a $300 million portfolio and the management of a profitable $150 million consumer-focused trading account.
Cardillo is a graduate Queens College at the City University of New York with a degree in Economics.
