Building trades employers honor Cuomo as first-ever Master Builder

The Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA) has presented its first-ever Master Builder Award to Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Calling the Governor “a true champion of the construction industry,” BTEA president and CEO, Louis J. Coletti, presented the award during the oragnizations 115th Annual Leadership Dinner at 583 Park Avenue event space.

The honor came days after the governor proposed a historic $150 billion investment plan thatw ill help fund the capital and transit projects around the state.

Addressing some 400 BTEA members and guests, Cuomo offered updates on projects already launched as part of what he called “the largest infrastructure plan in the country… to produce modern and progressive projects that rival global infrastructure.”

Coletti praised the Governor’s contribution and excellence regarding infrastructure and his impact on communities throughout the state.

“The foundation and centerpiece of [his] plan has always been to expand the economic growth of New York.” said Coletti.

The BTEA boss mentioned the Governor’s vision when he initially took this position seven years ago. “He saw rising tax revenue, new business opportunities, good paying jobs and an improved quality of life for all New Yorkers.”

Following the presentation of Governor Cuomo’s award was a list of honorees including Sabrina Kanner, Brookfield Properties; Richard Kennedy, Skanska USA; Joseph Le, Atlantic Contacting & Specialties; Thomas Gesualdi, Teamsters Local 282; John Murphy, United Association, New York State Pipe Trades Officers; William Shuzman, Allied Building Metal Industries; Paul Fernandes, CCA Metro; Michael Cavanaugh, NYC District Council of Carpenters; John DeLollis, Association of Wall Ceiling & Carpentry Industries; Joseph Geiger, NYC District Council of Carpenters, Graham Mchugh, NYC District Council of Carpenters, David Meberg, Greater New York Floor Coverers Association and John O’Hare, Building Contractors Association.
