Sugar Hill Capital Partners announced that Sweatshop, a Brooklyn-based coffee house founded by Luke Woodard and Ryan De Remer, is occupying the firm’s ground-level storefront at 336 Flatbush.
Named Lil’ Sister, the 2,000 s/f outpost is now open and will be Sweatshop’s first Park Slope location and satellite venue.
“When we opened Sweatshop in Williamsburg four years ago, we envisioned an environment for locals to enjoy great coffee while also having a space to mingle alongside other creative professionals,” said Ryan.
“As Australian natives, our goal was to create an all-encompassing, collaborative space for people to both relax and feel inspired, while also paying homage to Melbourne’s distinct coffee culture.”
It was a gap in the local coffee market that led the duo to renovate the Williamsburg location, once a bodega. The new space is a gallery experience meets coffee shop, with an event space where the founders will host a rotating portfolio of showcases
