BOMA celebrates members, scholars

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater New York (BOMA New York) hosted its 2017 Annual Holiday Luncheon at the Grand Hyatt New York.

To celebrate the season, over 500 industry leaders, association members and guests attended the event filled with networking opportunities and entertainment.

During the event, BOMA New York announced the recipients of its scholarship program and the winner of the 2017 Civic Betterment Award.

The 2018 scholarship recipients include Brendan Fitzpatrick, JLL; Sandy Forbes, JLL; Nicholas Fusco, Cushman & Wakefield; Gloria Gavilanes, CBRE; William Hurd, Jr., SL Green; Georgiana Rolon, Equity Office Properties and; Paul Sciallis, H&R Property Management.

The Civic Betterment Award is given every year to a New York City-based organization and recognizes their dedication, time and commitment to enriching the lives of those living in New York.

This year’s honoree, the Kids for Kids Foundation was established in 2008 by a group of New York City professionals to provide support and awareness on behalf of children and families battling catastrophic diseases.

President of BOMA New York, Jim Kleeman touched on the successes and presented the President’s Award to three BOMA New York members whose unwavering commitment has contributed to the association’s advancement. This year’s winners are Tom Krol, LEED AP, Donnelly Mechanical; Deborah Tomasi, Boston Properties and; Ron Zeccardi, The Moinian Group.

BOMA New York’s 2018 Board Leadership and newly elected Officers and Directors were sworn in by Robert M. Brierley, BOMA Fellow, Chair and Chief Elected Officer for BOMA International.

The Officers include President Ronald S. Zeccardi, The Moinian Group; Vice President Hani J. Salama, PE, LEED AP, Capital Properties; Treasurer Matthew J. Duthie, RPA, JLL and; Secretary Cynthia M. Boyea, RPA, CPM, CCIM, Paramount Group.

The newly elected directors include Mark S. Landstrom, Tishman Speyer; Kevin T. Lillis, ABS Partners; Rosemarie Subasic, Hines as agent for Morgan Stanley; Michael F. Sullivan, Edward J. Minskoff Equities and; Deborah Tomasi, Boston Properties.
