ABS brings Wooftown and its pet food tasting counter to West Village

A high-end pet nutrition store, complete with chef’s counter for tasting new dog food, is coming to the West Village.

ABS Partners just signed Toronto-based Wooftown to a retail lease at 91 Christopher Street.

Wooftown supplies pet owners with premium pet foods and advice on the parenting of family dogs. At Wooftown’s West Village location, owners will have access to ongoing nutritional guidance to ensure their four-legged family members enjoy all of the benefits of optimal nutrition.

The store will have a chef’s counter where dogs can sample Wooftown’s homemade, high-grade dog food, available for purchase and delivery.

“When searching in New York City for Wooftown’s second retail location, we knew that the West Village was the perfect neighborhood for the brand to enter the U.S. market,” said Dean Valentino of ABS Partners Real Estate, who represented Wooftown in the lease of the1,030 s/f shop.

“The retail space at 91 Christopher Street provided affordable frontage near the popular Bleecker Street shopping corridor between Seventh Avenue and Hudson Street. The location ensures that Wooftown’s high-end and homemade products, customized service and attention to detail will be noticed by the neighborhood’s two- and four-legged residents.”

Wooftown is slated to open in December and will occupy 540 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and 490 square feet of storage space on the lower level. This lease marks the Toronto-based company’s first U.S. location.

Richard Skulnik and Lindsay Zegans of Ripco Real Estate represented the landlord, Dalan Management. Asking rent for the retail space was $245 per square foot on the ground floor.
