SCG working with chain laser focused on Manhattan growth

SCG Retail, a division of The Shopping Center Group, announced the signing of a 1,650 s/f 15-year lease for LaserAway at 35 East 19th Street in the Flatiron district.

The asking rent was $200 psf. The tenant was represented by Michael Miller and Alexandra Escobar, brokers at SCG Retail. “Developed on the West Coast, this revolutionary new laser skin care and aesthetics clinic creates a buzz for the beauty conscious and those not wanting unnecessary fuzz!” says Miller.

According to Escobar, “The Flatiron district is very desirable and bustling with great shopping, restaurants, bars and beauty options. It makes for an ideal first location in New York City.”

may4laserLaserAway has 26 locations in California, Arizona and Nevada. Many celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, are big fans and are featured on LaserAway’s website and social media outlets. This marks LaserAway’s first East Coast location.

The space at 35 East 19th was previously a furniture store. Also in the neighborhood, Jean George’s ABCV, the first Michelin starred chef to open a vegan restaurant; Union Square Café is relocating nearby.

LaserAway is owned and managed by a team of doctors and the Heckmann family. The Heckmann’s collectively worked with SCG Retail to identify this site. They plan to open this summer.

The landlord was represented by Herb Goldberg of City Connections Realty.

“We are currently looking for locations in midtown and UES,” said Miller. “No one offers the same array of services as LaserAway. We’re anticipating a great response to their opening this summer.”

“Their customer profile is similar to Dry Bar, Lululemon and Equinox,” added Escobar, “the type of consumer that seeks out new ways to stay fit and look great.”
