Bold moves to hire 100 new agents

Bold New York, the NoHo-based real estate consulting and brokerage firm, is expanding its operations, multiplying the size of its office and initiating a hiring binge for agents and marketing staff.

“We are in total growth mode,” said company president Jordan Sachs. “Our project pipeline is increasing tremendously, which means that through our upcoming projects we’ll continue building our resources.”
Bold is leasing an additional 8,000 s/f at its current location at 636 Broadway. “We’re full,” Sachs said, referring to their 6th floor space in the building. “We don’t have any room to continue clearing.”

The new office space will house the company’s agents, executive team and its marketing department. According to Sachs, their office space expansion reached an adjacent property, 632 Broadway, which they gained access to by knocking down a connecting wall.

The company is looking to hire 110 agents and 15 employees by the first quarter of next year. The new hires would reinforce Bold New York’s current roster of 50 agents and eight employees.
The company, which was launched in 2010, is deliberately trudging along the hiring process, in spite of plans to offer more services in-house.

“We can do it all in 30 days, but we’re just not the type of people that want to do that… We are big on strategic hires. We are not the type of brokerage that is throwing as much against the wall to see what sticks. We’re a long-term-career type of brokerage,” Sachs said.

Recently, Bold New York was tapped as the exclusive leasing agent for Sky, the Moinian Group’s luxury rental building at 605 West 42nd Street in Hell’s Kitchen.

The property is the largest single tower rental in the city (by number of units), thereby putting Bold New York in charge of dispatching 1,175 apartments.

Currently, Bold New York is handling sales at 60 Duffield Street, which the company describes as “Downtown Brooklyn’s first rental luxury rental property located above a boutique hotel.”

The property, which contains 64 units, start renting from $2,400. Leasing for the building started about four months ago.
