After over four decades of dedicated service with prominent Manhattan-based owner/manager, ATCO Properties & Management, chief operating officer Peter L. DiCapua is retiring.
His expertise and experience in all phases of building ownership, asset management and operation have played an integral role in ATCO’s diverse $2 billion portfolio of institutional-quality real estate assets nationwide.
“Peter has been at the forefront of many of our company’s successes,” stated Damon Hemmerdinger, co-president of ATCO. “We thank him for his wonderful years of service.”
Since 1971, when he began as building manager and chief engineer, DiCapua has been involved with many aspects of the firm’s development, including ATCO’s very successful Essential Design + Build subsidiary, one of many crowning achievements.
“I take great pride in the career I’ve enjoyed with ATCO,” said DiCapua. “We’re a real estate company at our core, yes, but I’ve always believed that our most valuable asset is our people. We pride ourselves on the level of praise and respect we’ve attained over the years because of the high level of ethical standards we’ve operated from.”
Through his membership and positions of leadership in various real estate associations, DiCapua has become a highly regarded member of New York’s real estate industry.
He currently is on the Board of Governors with the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), New York Building Congress, Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations and the Associated Builders & Owners of Greater New York.
