The New York Construction Alliance (NYCA) has expressed their support for the newly passed bill, Introduction 1382-B.
New York City Council Member Robert Cornegy Jr. proposed the bill that aims to reduce discrimination in the construction industry by ensuring minority contractors and employees are properly represented.
Under the bill, contractors who work on construction projects funded by the city of New York will be required to disclose employees zip codes, primary addresses, block and lot number of the city-funded construction project and whether a contactor is certified as a minority-owned or women-owned business enterprise (WMBE)
