Blink Fitness to open at Brooklyn Lyceum

Blink Fitness, the value-based fitness club, announced the opening of its newest Brooklyn location in the landmarked Brooklyn Lyceum building in Park Slope.

The club opened the doors at 227 4th Ave. on Tuesday (August 1).

The Lyceum originally served as NYC Public Bath No. 7 and the building was in dire need of a major restoration when Blink signed the lease.

Blink worked to retain as much of the historic character as possible, resulting in a spectacular gym space. Preservation of the 100-year-old building includes original exposed brick, large arched windows, and industrial steel trusses that support the twenty-two foot high ceilings.

As a part of the Grand Opening celebration, Blink Fitness will donate 50 one-year memberships, worth over $10,000, to Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, an organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth and adults recognize their own self-worth, and advance towards self-sufficiency and financial security through job training, academic reinforcement, improved life skills, job placement, and support services.

“We are excited to open our doors in such a historically significant and beloved space, bringing our Mood Above Muscle™ philosophy to our 12th Brooklyn location,” said Kenyon Clemons, Club Manager.

“This is a show stopping, flagship location for Blink that we’re sure will become a healthy, happy hub of activity in the neighborhood.”
