NEW DEVELOPMENT: Tadao Ando’s first residential building in NYC; d’Orsay tops out

Architectural first tops out in Nolita

feb15tandoSumaida + Khurana announced the topping out of 152 Elizabeth, Pritzker Prize winner Tadao Ando’s first residential building in New York City.
“This is a major milestone for 152 Elizabeth,” said Amit Khurana, founding partner of Sumaida + Khurana. “The project represents a commitment to creating unique architectural value and setting a new benchmark for quality in residential development.”
The luxury building is the product of a design collaboration between Tadao Ando and FAIA award-winning architect and designer Michael Gabellini, of Gabellini Sheppard Associates. 152 Elizabeth will feature Ando’s hallmarks: poured-in-place concrete, burnished metal, voluminous glass and a living green wall.
152 Elizabeth’s façade system and exterior glass enable a high OITC rating to ensure a tranquil home environment. Units have wide plank Danish oak flooring from Dinesen and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Kitchens are outfitted with custom cabinetry, Gaggenau appliances, a custom sliding countertop island by Milan-based Minimal, and honed Fango marble countertops. Master bathrooms are clad in honed Bianco Sivec marble and a radiant floor heating system.
Other features include dehumidification systems in each home – perfect for art collectors, as well as Gabellini Sheppard Associates’ signature “reveals,” a design feature that creates floating volumes and planes.
The building also offers an automated parking garage with parking spaces available for purchase, a 24-hour doorman and additional private storage. Pricing for half-floor residences starts at $5,750,000 million, and $14,800,000 million for full-floor homes. d’Orsay development milestone

The d’Orsay, a luxury boutique condominium located at 211 West 14th Street, has officially topped out.
Developed by Adellco, the 11-story building celebrates the first condominium with interiors by “AD 100” French designer Jacques Garcia.

Toll Brothers City Living announced that 1400 Hudson Street, the 12-story Dewitt Tishman-designed building in Hoboken, N.J., has surpassed the 70 percent sold mark. feb15toll
The project, which opened its sales gallery in the spring of 2016, is poised for a swift sellout, drawing buyers from the local community and beyond.
Consisting of 236 residences, 1400 Hudson Street’s interior design, conceived by interior designer Andres Escobar of Escobar Design by Lemay, was inspired by the former Lipton Tea factory in Hoboken and the area’s historically industrial past.
The building offers studios to three-bedroom condominiums, all featuring open floor plans and wide plank oak flooring throughout.
Modern kitchens offer quartz stone countertops, custom wood cabinets, as well as Bosch and Thermador appliances. Baths include custom vanities, large glass showers, Kohler fixtures and rich porcelain floors. Select homes offer private balconies.

Gowanus rental a record-breaker
