David M. Valdez has joined the New York City office of the global tenant real estate advisory firm Mohr Partners as Managing Director.
Since joining the company, Valdez has supported the Mohr team by advising Web.com and its newly acquired division Yodle, Inc., on managing the sublease of 55,000 square feet of recently built office space at 330 West 34th Street in Manhattan.
Valdez has also been advising Colchester Global Investors on their New York City requirement.
Prior to joining Mohr Partners, Valdez served in senior real estate management and brokerage positions at leading global corporations and brokerage firms.
As vice president at Goldman Sachs, he co-managed real estate related transactions and strategy for the space the firm occupied in the Americas.
Valdez also served as Managing Director at New York City commercial brokerage firms Edward S. Gordon Company and CB Richard Ellis. He also worked at Cushman & Wakefield, where he co-managed clients’ real estate assets, transactions, and strategic planning for portfolio-level accounts.
As a Senior Vice President with Blanca Commercial Real Estate in Miami, Valdez advised national and regional firms in lease and acquisition transactions.
Valdez received a BA from Whitman College and earned a Masters in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
NAI James E. Hanson announced that Justin Allessio joined its Hackensack office as a Sales Associate.
Allessio will work with NAI Hanson’s Managing Director – Corporate Services, Scott Perkins, SIOR, and Sales Associate, Christopher Todd, on sales and leasing in the Northern New Jersey marketplace, specializing in office and industrial.
Prior to joining NAI Hanson, Allessio was an Energy Efficiency Project Manager with Conserva Partners, managing energy efficiency initiatives for businesses and building owners in the New York City market.
He was also previously a writer for North Jersey Media Group.
Allessio holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Media, with a double major in Political Science from Rutgers University.
Greystone Affordable Housing Initiatives LLC announced that Yolanda Winstead has been appointed Head of Finance.
In this role, she will provide leadership in orchestration of Greystone’s affordable housing preservation transaction efforts.
Prior to joining Greystone, Winstead served for 15 years at CAHEC, a nonprofit regional tax credit equity syndicator, as Senior Acquisitions Manager.
Prior to joining CAHEC, Winstead was a vice president and project manager with DHIC, a regional nonprofit affordable housing developer, where she was responsible for overseeing planning, financing and construction of single-family and tax credit multifamily housing. While there, she also oversaw the creation and development of DHIC’s home ownership counseling center.
Gebroe-Hammer Associates Gehane Triarsi has been named the firm’s 2016 Salesperson of the Year.
Triarsi has also promoted to vice president.

Mission Capital Advisors announced that Jillian Mariutti has joined the firm as a director in the firm’s Debt and Equity group, where she will focus on originating and structuring real estate capital for owners, investors, and developers.
Mariutti most recently, worked at derivatives advisory firm JCRA Financial LLC as the head of real estate in North America.
Prior to JCRA, Mariutti served as a vice president at Wells Fargo, where she was responsible for marketing and structuring interest rate management solutions for Public REITs, multifamily and hospitality clients.
Earlier in her career, she worked at Wachovia, where she covered a variety of industry groups within the firm’s corporate and investment banking platform.
Mariutti graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
AmTrust Title Insurance Company announced that Marci Lerner has joined the company as an Agency Representative for New Jersey.
A veteran title insurance professional, with over 25 years of experience in the state of New Jersey, prior to joining AmTrust, Lerner was an Agency Representative for Westcor Land Title. Earlier, she spent over 10 years working for Chicago Title in its New Jersey Direct operation.
Lerner attended Rutgers University, is a past member of CREW-NJ.
Ripco Real Estate Corp. announced that Mark Kaplan has joined the firm as Principal and Chief Operating Officer.
Kaplan will be based in the company’s Long Island office and charged with growing the brokerage business and pursuing various ventures and partnership opportunities.
Kaplan graduated with honors from Columbia Law School where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and spent the last 11 years working in various areas of the industry including finance, law, property management, and leasing.
He comes with vast experience, having worked in Credit Suisse’s large-loan CMBS origination group in New York and then as principal of both Kaplan Equities LLC and Kabro Associates LLC.
Rockefeller Group announced that Megumi Brod has joined the company as senior vice president, regional development officer, Northeast Region, responsible for leading the company’s existing developments and acquisitions for new projects.
She is based in the company’s headquarters office in Rockefeller Center.
Brod has an extensive property development and investment background throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Previously, she was a principal at Bedrock Real Estate Partners, where she oversaw several projects in New York, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.
Before that, Brod headed up the New York Development Group for Equity Residential, where she helped grow the company’s local development portfolio to more than $700 million including projects located along the Highline and in Downtown Brooklyn.
She also held various development and portfolio management positions with Tishman Speyer in New York.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Savitt Partners has tapped former Trinity Real Estate Vice President Peter Fontanetta as Senior Managing Director.
Bringing more than a decade of real estate experience as Vice President and Assistant Director of Leasing and Marketing at Trinity Real Estate, Fontanetta will work closely with Savitt’s executives to best serve his clients’ needs in tenant representation.
Fontanetta received an undergraduate degree from New York University and a law degree from New York Law School. He is a member of the New York Bar.
The Kaufman Organization announced the promotion of Yvonne Chang and Sam Stein to co-vice presidents of Leasing, two newly created positions, since the recent passing of real estate veteran, Barbara Raskob, former Director of Leasing for Kaufman.
In their new roles, Chang and Stein will continue to manage the leasing efforts for Kaufman’s “family portfolio” – eight office buildings (450 7th Avenue, 462 7th Avenue, 470 7th Avenue, 519 8th Avenue, 132 West 36th Street, 212 West 35th Street, 111 West 19th Street, 22 West 18th Street and 257-259 Canal Street) totaling 2.3 million square-feet in New York City.
Yvonne Chang joined Kaufman Organization as an associate broker back in 2009 and worked directly with Raskob.
Prior to joining the firm, she was director of real estate development at East West Holdings International. Chang holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from St. John’s University.
Before joining Kaufman in 2014 as an associate broker, Sam Stein spent nine years at Justin Management where he negotiated, structured and closed leasing transactions covering a portfolio of 1.3 million square feet of Class B and C office space in Manhattan. He led a team of property managers and maintained a 98% occupancy rate in portfolio properties.
Stein received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College and his MBA from Columbia Business School’s real estate program.
Greystone announced that Scott Thurman has joined as Senior Managing Director and Chief Underwriter within the FHA lending team.
Thurman will focus on multifamily, affordable and healthcare property transactions as well as various strategic initiatives to further streamline the FHA underwriting process for Greystone clients.
A 25-year FHA industry veteran, Thurman most recently served as Senior Managing Director and Chief Underwriter at ACRE Capital.
Prior to ACRE, Thurman was Deputy and Chief Underwriter at CWCapital, which was acquired by Walker & Dunlop in 2012.
Thurman has overseen the underwriting of over $2 billion in FHA-insured loans in those roles. He was part of the original FHA-Lender team that re-invented FHA’s approach to financing residential care facilities.
Thurman began his career at the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, where he served as Multifamily Housing Representative and Information Specialist.
Greystone Development announced the appointment of Christopher Britt as head of its new construction company affiliate, Greystone Builders.
Britt will be responsible for the oversight of properties, including spearheading day-to-day operations, and optimizing conditions to maximize timely and cost-effective delivery of the properties.
He joins Greystone Builders with more than 20 years of industry experience.
He participated in the launch of Bravo Builders, a construction management startup. He spent the last three years contributing to the growth of that firm, which expanded from five to over 50 employees, and with a number of projects in development.
Before that, Britt was a Project Manager at Sciame Construction, where his talents were concentrated on four commercial properties spanning almost one million square feet throughout the Tri-State area. Prior to Sciame Construction, Britt functioned as the in-house, construction project manager for two separate New York-based architecture firms.
