Colliers International has further expanded its Eastern Region platform with the addition of Mel Myrie as the firm’s Regional Finance & Operations Manager.
Myrie will be responsible for operational coordination and financial planning and analysis support, working closely with Eastern Region President Joseph Harbert, Chief Financial Officer USA, Lynn Cook, and the U.S. leadership team.
Myrie will lead the effort to drive an efficient and comprehensive process for developing financial plans, manage the region’s financial planning process, and provide modeling and analysis.
Prior to his career in real estate, Myrie served in the U.S. Army with the rank of Corporal, completing a tour of duty in Operation Desert Storm with the 82nd Airborne Division, and is an expert marksman and parachutist.
He joins Colliers with more than 15 years of experience, most recently as associate director of capital markets at Marcus & Millichap.
He previously spent 11 years at Jones Lang LaSalle, where as senior vice president he served as head of finance for the northeast region.
He received his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the North Carolina A&T State University.
Advance Realty announced that it has hired Richard A. Crooker as general counsel.
Crooker will serve as a member of the Advance Realty executive team, utilizing his strategic skill set to consult and advise on legal matters for the company.
He will be the conduit to and manage outside legal counsel for real estate and joint venture transactions and will manage the structuring, drafting and negotiating of all agreements.
Prior to joining Advance Realty, Crooker was a partner at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf in Madison, N.J., where he focused on transactions, counseling and dispute resolution for clients spanning all areas of expertise.
From 2003 to 2007, he served as general counsel for International Risk Group in Denver, Co., where he handled all legal aspects in a business leadership role at the brownfield consulting and redevelopment company.
During his career, Crooker was also founder and partner at Cuyler Burk and a commercial litigation associate at Stryker Tams & Dill.
Crooker received his juris doctor from Rutgers University and his Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Notre Dame.
SL Green Realty Corp. announced that a new head of Information Technology has been hired at the company.
Parimala Rao will be joining SL Green in the role of Senior Vice President of Information Technology and brings twenty years of experience to the position.
Most recently, Rao served as Executive Director of Technology at The New York Times where she was awarded the Prestigious Publisher’s Award for Technology Innovation.
Early on in her career, Rao worked for The Times Group, India’s largest publishing house. After moving to the United States, she held positions at IBM, Sapient, Google, Microsoft and Telenav.
Her experience includes technical and financial solutions, data warehouse development, cloud computing, enterprise application development, mobile and web platform engineering and next generation web service delivery.
Rao holds dual Masters of Science degrees in Biotechnology from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and in Software Engineering from the University of Liverpool in the UK.
She is a Certified Project Manager from Stanford University.

McGuinness has over 25 years of experience as a corporate finance and real estate lawyer.
She oversees matters involving corporate finance, commercial lending, and financial institutions.
McGuinness represents real estate developers and lenders in all capacities of commercial real estate, as well as individuals and corporations with regard to leasing, financing, and the acquisition of corporate jets and fractional aircraft interests.
A recent achievement in McGuinness’ distinguished career was the completion of an 18-month transaction with a real estate investment trust (REIT) involving 30 assets across three different states.
McGuinness holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairfield University, and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.

Colliers International has hired Craig M. Cetta as Senior Financial Analyst for its New Jersey operations.
Cetta will lead the analytical operation for the New Jersey Investment Services Group, where he will develop sophisticated proprietary valuation models and underwriting pro-formas to provide clients with cash flow projections, sensitivity analyses, BOV’s and cost-benefit analyses.
Cetta will also assist with managing the due diligence process, the preparation and presentation of investment memoranda and RFP responses.
Cetta’s position has been added due to the increase in transaction volume over the past 12 months by the New Jersey Investment Services Group.
Previously, Cetta was an Associate on a value-add institutional real estate fund for The Hampshire Companies. Prior to that Cetta was an Associate at a financial advisory boutique, where he specialized in private placements and M&A assignments.
Cetta holds a B.A. in Economics from The John Hopkins University and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.
David A. Kaufman has joined Herrick, Feinstein LLP’s real estate department, based out of the law firm’s Newark office.
Kaufman, who advises owners, developers and financial institutions in real estate transactions and financings, comes to the firm from Fried Frank.
Prior to that, he was general counsel of Rechler Equity/R Squared Real Estate Partners, a real estate investment firm operating throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Duval & Stachenfeld LLP has expanded its Real Estate Capital Markets Practice Group with the addition of partner Evan Hudson.
Hudson joins the Firm to co-chair the group.
Evan Hudson, who joins D&S from Proskauer Rose, is a graduate of Harvard Law School and a seasoned real estate capital markets veteran.
He brings extensive experience in representing issuers, underwriters and real estate entrepreneurs in their most high-stakes and challenging capital markets and securities compliance matters, with a focus on the real estate and REIT spaces.
In addition to Hudson, the group is co-chaired by Terri Adler, a founder of D&S and also the chair of the Real Estate Practice Group.

The New York office of Cresa announced that Jonathan Buksbaum and W. Clayton Trauernicht have joined the firm as vice presidents of sales.
Jonathan Buksbaum joined Cresa New York from DTZ (formerly Cassidy Turley), where he served on the firm’s business development team since 2012.
